President Obama wants to create 5 million green-collar jobs over the next decade. JLMC, Inc. can help wind turbine companies by offering experienced weld repair with our crack-repair technicians.
Our trained technicians travel all over the country in order to field repair weld wind turbines without taking them down.
In 2008, the United States surpassed Germany as the world’s No. 1 wind-powered nation, with more than 25,000 megawatts in place. According to a recent U.S. Energy Department report, wind power could supply 20 percent of America’s electricity needs by 2030, as compared to less than one percent currently in the U.S.
California is the No. 3 wind state, behind Texas and Iowa. Quite a few developments are in the pipeline, including in Kern County, where hundreds of turbines already dot the wind-swept ridges of the Tehachapi mountain range.
This is going to be ground zero for alternative energy in California, and JLMC, Inc. is prepared to help you with your needs. We currently have trained crack technicians working in Lancaster, California, Palm Desert, California, and at a number of sites in Wyoming.
A typical 1.5-megawatts unit costs $2.5 million installed. It sits about 30 stories above the ground at the hub where its three 100-foot-long blades connect to the tower. Just behind the hub is the housing for the gearbox, drive train, and other components. Think of this as our Crack Technician’s Office, except there is no elevator.
The work area is reached by climbing rung by rung on a narrow steel ladder attached to the inside of the tower. A trained technician worker can do it in fewer than 10 minutes several times a day. We work with our customers and safety train our employees to complete this task without anyone being injured.
If you have a project like this, please contact JLMC, Inc., and we will have one of our sales representatives contact you within 24 hours. Call us at 909-947-2980 or fill out our online contact form for more information.
