Wind TurbinesPresident Obama wants to create 5 million green-collar jobs over the next decade. JLMC, Inc. can help wind turbine companies by offering experienced weld repair with our crack-repair technicians.

Our trained technicians travel all over the country in order to field repair weld wind turbines without taking them down.

In 2008, the United States surpassed Germany as the world’s No. 1 wind-powered nation, with more than 25,000 megawatts in place. According to a recent U.S. Energy Department report, wind power could supply 20 percent of America’s electricity needs by 2030, as compared to less than one percent currently in the U.S.

California is the No. 3 wind state, behind Texas and Iowa. Quite a few developments are in the pipeline, including in Kern County, where hundreds of turbines already dot the wind-swept ridges of the Tehachapi mountain range.

This is going to be ground zero for alternative energy in California, and JLMC, Inc. is prepared to help you with your needs. We currently have trained crack technicians working in Lancaster, California, Palm Desert, California, and at a number of sites in Wyoming.

Wind TurbinesA typical 1.5-megawatts unit costs $2.5 million installed. It sits about 30 stories above the ground at the hub where its three 100-foot-long blades connect to the tower. Just behind the hub is the housing for the gearbox, drive train, and other components. Think of this as our Crack Technician’s Office, except there is no elevator.

The work area is reached by climbing rung by rung on a narrow steel ladder attached to the inside of the tower. A trained technician worker can do it in fewer than 10 minutes several times a day. We work with our customers and safety train our employees to complete this task without anyone being injured.

JLMC, INC. was contracted to build the Biosphere, a self-contained compound in Arizona. Another unique and exciting project, and JLMC was there!

This project was designed by our dear friend Peter Pearce, a world famous architect, and he contracted JLMC to combine his expertise with ours to make his design a reality. We fabricated all the triangular panels that you see in these pictures. The panels needed to be within plus or minus 0.010 of an inch or they would not fit. All the panels averaged about 4 feet to 8 feet out of 16 Ga. C.R.Stl. We are proud to say that we completed this large, one-year project on schedule.

This and many other projects make JLMC, INC. the #1 Custom Metal Fabrication Shop in the Inland Empire and many other cities and states.

JLMC, Inc. fabricated and installed the metal kiosks, signs, shades, light pole menus, and benches in the Outlets at Orange. If you look closely, the bench looks like a roll of film.
